I think of "users don't care about decentralization" as being similar to "consumers don't care about what's in their food"

Interesting. I think that: 1. Decentralization and its benefits are too abstract for many 2. Its lower on the priority of what users care about esp compared to easy of use and cost for example (due to point 1 imo) — similar to how consumers choose food, not many people actually care about whats in chips & cola
