In the US, they proposed banning betting on elections The US Congress called on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to ban political betting. Government officials believe they can influence the outcome of the presidential election in the United States. Five senators and three members of the House of Representatives sent an open letter to CFTC head Rostin Benham. Members of Congress stress that elections should not be perceived as a “commercial enterprise.”
