If we changed the Warpcast default feed to Highlights with 10x casts -- with a boost for new users -- and made Following the 2nd tab, what would your reaction be?

Current following is reverse chrono. Only time it's not is when you've been gone for a while we take the set of following casts and sort by engagement. A refresh then goes back to reverse chronological.

3rd party algos are less likely for Warpcast

We'd rather encourage people to use other apps like Discove, Jam, Yup, Alphacaster.

Unclear custom algos scale (who pays for all the infra? what's the performance / latency like?)

One other concept that's a core difference between Bluesky and FC

Since your identity and data live onchain / Hubs, you don't have to have a home server / app. So you can easily use a variety of clients with different algos.

Bsky server model is closer to email, so algos come from your home backend.

Although I think you should start laying the foundations for people to configure those tabs, and their ordering, with Warpcast defaults (Highlights, Following) and third party custom algos like what Bluesky just released.

Hard to say until I’ve tried it.

My take on Highlights: it’s good on the first read, then stays stale for ~24 hours.

Why not give ppl a choice in the settings to choose their preference. Personally I prefer to see my following first before any highlights

i'd give it a shot, i switch between "for you" and "following" on twitter and i'm left unsatisfied fully with either 

but i would love to see boosts for new users (nc bot is great and i think everyone should follow it)
