If you're following >2500 users on Farcaster — why are you following so many people?

1. Looking for more content, discovery
2. Simulate a global feed
3. I genuinely want to keep track of >2500 people
4. Other reason

I basically assume that if they're on farcaster they've passed through some quality filter. So far that's proven to be true.

The false positive rate is so much lower than the false negative rate that anyone not following everyone is probably doing so for bad reasons (e.g. to maintain a good "ratio")

I think it's a worse experience but do it because I want to see a large % of the network.

Side question: if you do follow >2,500 people, do you think it's a better experience? 

Better discovery & engagement or too diluted?

honestly i do this all the time. i’m not the purest sns saint.

whatever shortens my path to growing @perl , i do it shamelessly unless it’s illegal or hurts people in any way.

once it reaches a certain number i stop though. it’s a formulaic dirty deed to form your audience fast.

4. To grow one’s own following. 

Not me personally, but do know people who use reciprocation in attempt to juice follower count. Often using follower bots.

I don't, but if I did, it would be out of my enthusiastic desire to expand my network beyond my stifling Twitter community

if I could follow over 2500 in a click I would and it'd be for reason #1

One observation is that getting from 400 people I follow to 4,000 hasn't changed my feed too much since most people don't cast at all.

1. To me, following thousands of accounts is like having a thousand of channels or websites in which I can learn something new from. It’s the possibility of additional good input of data/knowledge.

There are so many great people I want to follow on here, but despite following so many my feed seems consistent on warpcast. Could just be a small number of users I follow cast anything, but I’ve noticed that I discover atypical casts from clients like jam and discove
