Why did my follower account decrease?

1. Yesterday, we changed how Warpcast counts followers by excluding users our algorithm flags as spammy.

2. Twitter (at least historically) and Instagram both do this.

3. We've had an uptick in spam recently, so as part of improving our spam models we decided to make this change.

4. View this less as losing followers and more us giving you a more accurate (but not perfectly accurate!) view of your audience. 

5. There are additional improvements we can make here and we will likely do that over the coming weeks and months.

6. Important: this change only affects Warpcast’s display—it doesn’t alter protocol data; those accounts still follow you. And if you follow a spammy account, i.e. you don't find it spammy, you'll see their casts.

7. Third-party apps can access Warpcast’s open-source spam labels.

Love the new update! Feels a whole lot truer on the followers now. Appreciate you guys always cooking.

I’m a bit confused about why it increased since then. I went from 4.8K to 5.3K. Is it a brand-new wave of bots? Or are the users who were previously labeled as spam now being included in the total count again? 👀

the new follows seem to be mostly bots

I see the opposite now, from 5.2 -> 5.6 after the purge, did the algo changed? or people started to behave 😅

Noticed it, I do prefer to interact with more authentic accounts, so that's cool you guys are doing this. Although, can you see this? I have felt like I might've been placed in that box unfortunately ...maybe because my name?

Since yesterday, I’ve noticed an unusually high increase in followers on my account. 
I think the spam accounts that were removed have quickly been replaced by others.

I just noticed I already have 833 followers atm, 56 more than 15h ago...

and i can tell this is impossible, because I was checking who followed me

when I went to sleep and I woke up, my last follower was the same person but the number just increased🤔

Strangely, the number of followers is beginning to increase as well.

I’ve been having an influx of followers now tho? Gained like 300 to 400 followers in the past 2 days

My followers decreased from 3.3k to 1.7k, but suddenly increased to 2k today.
However, there are only a few follow-up notifications. 
Why is this?
