2 years from now, for most consumer experiences that use crypto, the underlying chain will be invisible. Exception will be if the target consumers own the underlying asset of the chain and are thus incentivized to hype an app because of a chain. For regular people, they will just care if the app is fun / interesting.

wrong. the chain will never be abstracted away. because they compete for users.

This!! Once we’re able to get to this point where the chain fades into the background and the experience takes center stage, then we can beat our chests and say crypto finally made it to the mainstream.💯

Already the case in a lot of areas tbh, it's why GameFi has never taken off or found a pmf. GameFi has to date either been pure gambling/luck-based play (as it'd be "solved" and automated without heavy RNG), or literally just a gamified frontend for plain old DeFi. Mainstream GameFi won't be a thing until an actual GAME appears, in which 99% of players dont care in the slightest that it's built or enhanced using on-chain tech.

We have to find fun/interesting experiences that are powered by ownership mechanics. I'm thinking of ideas but most of them are limited to investing, gambling, and tipping. We need more use cases.

100% agree. Which apps (crypto app layer) today have some signs of PMF & will lead the invisible chain consumer experiences? E.g. Blackbird

I think the timeline is still too short for this, but maybe that’s just the fatigue talking. People have been saying this behavior is a few years away for a number of years now. The reason, imo, that it hasn’t come to fruition isn’t because of UX. It’s because of the devs. The devs care about the chain and they push the chain to their users. Because most people in this space are not building real products. They are building speculation machines.
