A lot of chatter recently about Farcaster, marketing and expanding beyond crypto I have yet to see a crisp definition of: 1. What problem does Farcaster solve for people outside of crypto today? 2. What evidence exists that existing at-scale free social networks and paid creator tools / platforms are insufficient in serving these people? 3. Assuming this population exists, what channel (i.e. tactics) do you market Farcaster to said people? I'm not asking for free work, fwiw. It's our job to figure to this out (we don't have an answer for this question ourselves). But hiring a "marketing team" when you don't have an answer to this question is not going to solve the problem. Marketing works great when you have a clear value prop and target market and channel.

How did you answer this question when raising your latest round? If you got people to invest without convincing them the potential is larger than crypto, then I want fundraising lessons from you

It was a bet on the team and the public work to date. Have been public for a while on strategy of: 1. Grow with crypto 2. Create cozy corners 3. More developer legos Just keep doing that for the next 10 years and make weekly progress.

Interesting, that’s not the answer I expected to hear. You guys are executing on that but to make this investment make money for your VC’s I would have expected that you would be trying to grow the user base outside of crypto native projects.

I mean I saw ethereum and Tesla pretty early but was a critic of coinbase, not in too bad of a way. One of my close friends said the flexibility of the wallet was a gamechanger and commitment to the value of decentaluzation, and he was right. So maybe reward fractionilized shares of coinbase to onboarders posting high quality content to offset costs. The nuclear option is to tokenize base even though you said you wouldn't, then everyone will love you and it will be a beautiful world.
