PSA for new people First off — welcome! I'd encourage you be thoughtful about 2 things: - Replying with 1 word replies: "good" "nice" "amazing" - Posting something in a channel that's off-topic Noticing a lot of casts about prices of BTC, ETH — consider the degen channel. https://warpcast.com/~/channel/degen

And because it's a frequent question: how does the active badge work? We run the job 1x per day, so when you qualify it may take 24 hours to kick in. https://warpcast.notion.site/Active-badge-d81fea2e953e4dafae7c85295ffaf3ae

Why are replies like "good" "nice" "amazing" not useful? - This type of reply is low effort and is better served by a like - Understand that people are still learning, but repeated replies like this will result in people muting your or marking your account as spam

Finally, "farming" your account with low effort and low engagement activity will not qualify you for anything. It's not always the case, but earning an active badge usually means you're headed in the right direction. https://www.notion.so/warpcast/Active-badge-d81fea2e953e4dafae7c85295ffaf3ae?pvs=4

would add that when sharing links, add some context or short description. It helps to quickly understand if this is interesting/valuable

I was going to reply with "nice" and "good" for a joke, but wasn't sure if appropriate on the topic... telling people what not to do ..increments chances of them doing it ..even if they weren't thinking of doing it previously study, R. Could this be baked into the UI? Something like a nicer version of "reply must be a minimum of 50 characters" - maybe something there

Curious about your thoughts for 1 word replies. I often reply Fun! and use it for a signal of things that I support because the utility is Fun! which I often feel is an overlooked and undervalued factor for adoption.

how about giving the ability for existing users to filter out new users from their experience? Maybe that's an evolution of the badge system already in place, with the ability to only see answers from those people

Nice one @dwr. That’s a good point and some amazing advice for n00bs. But making a Getting Started for Degens might be a slightly more new user onboarding tool. 🤷🏻

this is how I’ve always felt was important for “gm”s and reply guying, what’s the point if you’re not replying anything useful glad that kind of response is noted
