One heuristic for thinking about product-market fit You've discovered a magic machine that turns 1) money 2) the time and effort of talented people into more money. You literally can keep putting in money / time & effort and you get more money. It doesn't stop. And the best magic machines even keep spitting out money even if you don't put more money or time & effort in.

I actually always think of you / pmarca when I hear this phrase now. It’s actually incredibly important to get right in your own thinking… the delusion of PMF creates a very dangerous complacency

i find that a better heuristic (and a better word for heuristic is rule of thumb or language framework) for thinking about pmf (and potentially berrer than matt lerner at first rounds’ language/market fit which is better than pmf) is “product person motivation” PPM but you have to break it down into the key quadrants of human experience when this PRODUCT is a) shown physically b) described verbally c) felt emotionally d) cognized ideationally to this PERSON (a particular person type of person personalogy or person archetype use walter j ong’s ladder of abstraction to keep you honest but ascend nevertheless) MOTIVATES a) this ACTION b) this STATEMENT c) this BEAMING emotional vibe d) DREAMING ideation
