I’ve had two people reach out wanting to build a mini app. Doesn’t seem like it’s the most important thing for us to work re: developer legos.

tbh the current developer legos result in kinda confusing ux right now. does the data show that people are using the things built with the legos?

mini apps feel like the obvious next step if you want to work on developer legos. other lego-ish primitives that still need work are opening up DCs and decentralizing SIWF (let me know if i am missing something) i won't lie, i've never used a mini app on telegram and i'm a DAU, but i think they have real potential in social feeds adding support for mini apps along with improved accessibility for them (e.g. pinning an app/frame on your home screen) could help apps contribute to warpcast/farcaster client user retention. an obvious use case for me would be to turn stories into a mini app and if people can install stories on their home screen with a dynamic icon i could show an alert if they have unseen stories - completing the retention loop for my app and giving users another reason to check warpcast

fwiw, if the goal is “increase qDAU” and the strategy is “quality content + cozy corners”, i’m not sure how mini apps support the strategy maybe spending more time on channels could be a good next step?

Not a mini app but if deep links to composer actions exist, can build iOS shortcut that lets users select multiple photos from camera roll and share to Neynar gallery composer action @dylsteck.eth https://warpcast.com/samuellhuber.eth/0xbcd65b08

linking my reasoning for asking about deep links here https://www.supercast.xyz/c/0x714d031426505d5dc5c3d97e1741e94df083248e Some new considerations: - app launcher from within warpcast e.g. @kugusha.eth and Morpho could build a full launchpad where each frame sends you to the mini app once you deposited to learn more about Morpho Or to build DEFI awareness they could build a mini app quizz that one goes through and at the end one posts a frame as achievement of completion and gets an NFT or 1 USDC in Morpho Vault earning interest as thanks that share -> user gets compensated creates a viral loop getting more people into the quiz WHy is that good for warpcast? no need to leave the app Why does this grow DAU? more things to do -> more reasons to come back. While a quiz may not be it. Idle games have proven powerful e.g. Snake, Tetris, Flappybird, Farmville and more

mini apps in warpcast need shareable link to access them otherwise users can't find them

Is a mini app more than a deep link that triggers a frame in a modal? Or something totally different?

i like the current legos. some coherence to build over time but actions and frames are great. these are miniapps. opt in notifications would be nice to have

brainstormed a bit. feels like network-growing mini-apps are sitting in a weird UX place that is hard to define. most of the mini-apps I've experienced in tg/fb simply use the platforms for distribution, there are much less apps that offer a feature so good that one might bring a new user to it. what am i missing?

would prefer mini-app ux instead of frames for /qbase, esp for when i launch quizzes. deeplinks fix this tho

Please spend some more time on channels. They have so much potential. Let’s add some extra customization options. It’d be awesome if channels could be differentiated more than just a title and description. Maybe some sort of visual banner. It would also be cool if we could create subchannels but I’m not sure that’s ever in the cards. It’s in line with cozy corners and self enclosed communities though. It would be a hit in /success - which just clocked its 325th active paying subscriber. The potential is here.

mini-apps sound interesting as they would allow to overcome frame constraints, and give more flexibility to the app for example a store frame has bad ux whenever there are > 4 products, which is why we never built one if we could build better commercial experiences to fc we’ll surely do it

What could potentially be a win with mini apps is a "always logged in state". If you could pass over sign in from warpcast to the mini app similar to frames that would be pretty cool for seamless experiences. This is probably already the case with composer actions.
