Frames v2 timeline notes 1. Going to be iterative and looking for feedback from people building! 2. Committed to shipping notifications and auth. Our goal is to make a bigger announcement of “new Frames” when everything is shipped 3. Frames v1 unaffected. No changes until at least March, likely later (it won’t be sudden); our goal is to make Frames v2 compelling enough that vast majority of active frames migrate

Can you explain what the difference is between frames V2 and mini apps?

They replace mini apps (basically building on that foundation and giving developers ability to install + send notifications). https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/205

Okay, that makes sense. But then why sunset frames V1? Can both not serve different purposes as they are now?

Okay, understand if you simple can't support both. Here is the comment I left on GitHub anyway. Tbh, I think the issue is that a lot of devs aren't creative enough to make use of current frames. My election predictor from a couple of weeks back proved what can be done with the limited infrastructure. I am optimistic it will work out for the best, but I hope we aren't cutting off our nose to spite our face here...
