If we're interviewing creators, what questions would you add or remove? Assume you can only ask 6 questions max in a 15 minute convo.

- what amount of regular earnings would keep you creating on a daily basis? (fwiw with those constraints this feels more like a webform than an interview)

Context is I’ve done ~1500 customer interviews I typically like to start customer interviews getting them into storytelling mode: “What’s something you created lately that you’re proud of? Tell me a 2 min story of your process from idea to shipped Then 3 and 4 before 2. And 5 (magic wand question) is great

these questions are generic. everyone whines about platforms. the keyword is "hope". 1. tell me what you "hope" to achieve with this creative endeavour. who do you idolize 2. understand their current sources of revenue and whatever mix they want to get to 3. whose your audience. where do they engage with you most. what is a sign of engagement happy to do deeper but can't cast that shit tbh. prev art: https://www.osama.page/creator-economy/

3. What are your primary channels/platforms and why? (with followup - why aren't you using [insert other main platforms here that they aren't using]) For example /gmfarcaster uses FC, YouTube and Twitter. We don't use Twitch, IG, FB, LinkedIn, TikTok and we have some obvious reasons for those choice but you may find others who don't use Twitter. It would be good to understand why they don't. (and yes, we should probably be on tiktok)

"What's the most important time/event/showcase of the year for you?" Also I'd be hesitant about part time/full time question, probably more correlate with self perception than anything (most creative creators I know are doing many things concurrently, including some paid work/some not). Maybe ask it last to avoid priming.

How do you determine whether a channel is worth it? What are the current benchmarks? Poorly worded, but I think it's always important to understand how folks analyze their stack and workflow relative to the opportunities. Put another way, what's the job being done, and how high is the bar for competition re: fulfilling that job. Maybe not helpful at this stage but part of how I go about customer discovery fwiw.

I think this is a solid set for user research. I would leave time to peel back the onion on a specific answer.

Is social networking crucial to your career? Why? That way you find out what top performers are doing and identify problems to solve for people who say No. What are you interviewing for? Imho 1-3 are self evident if you have knowledge of the landscape and spend time researching. The other 2 seem like fine ways to gain knowledge for you but won’t tell you much about them and their dreams of what a platform could do for them. Which is I think closer to what you’re looking for with them.

15 minutes is tough, agree with @jdl you’re probably looking at a form vs an interview with that constraint I think full/part time is irrelevant honestly

Here’s some questions I’d ask: 1. What type of content do you like to post about and which platforms do you main? 2. How long did it take to monetize/how long have you been attempting to monetize? 3. If you could make $500/week on FC, would you consider taking USDC for payments? 4. Would you be willing to post about your non-crypto content if there’s not an audience yet, but you got paid regardless? (Pain point of @madisonsommer.eth) My questions are targeted towards non crypto users who’ve attempted to monetize on web2 for 1+ years with no financial success.

What’s your customer acquisition funnel? For many it’s multi channel, chained (eg tiktok > ig > link in bio)

think on the 4th question, also important to deep dive into when did they face the last frustration? what did they do about it ? etc. the whole stated vs revealed preference thing kind of comes into play here as well

Remove #4, the answer to it will surface in #5 response. Suggested adds: -are you looking to connect and collaborate with other creators? -is more creation or better distribution a higher priority for you right now?
