Everyone opted in, fwiw A consistent piece of feedback from people with large audiences on Twitter but were early on Farcaster (because I knew them): "Farcaster is great, but I forget to post there" So this is an experiment to syndicate their content to Farcaster. May take some time for people to start responding, but certainly the next time they open the app up they will have a full notifications feed and hopefully some thoughtful content. If "casts with no chance of reply" is how you're viewing this, i.e. it's a negative, just don't follow an account or if you're seeing recasts, mute them. The pragmatic view: still a higher chance that an account replies to you on Farcaster than on Twitter. That's just reality.

Would like to advocate for the naming of this feature as "simulcasting". ✌️ 😁

Very helpful context — with opt-in, and if the initial cohort plan to engage here, it’s a nice bootstrapping mechanism to reduce friction to get onto FC What was weird about this feature rollout was: 1. Lack of prior comms, leading me (and others) to interpret what was happening - apologies if it came off negative 2. The composition of the initial cohort. Celeb tier folks mixed in with Twitter power users, the former feels more jarring in juxtaposition of regular context (friends vibing with plenty of prior context)

how do the x-posts work? will they be posted into a specific channel or just straight onto the timeline?

i think the framing of how the content being recasted is presented to the feed as if it is *posted by pmarca* when it's really a relayed message doesn't feel right. this is probably where the controversy is coming from. if it were presented as "new content on <social here> by pmarca: " people might be more accepting.

Will you share which users? Will X-posts be demarcated or treated the same as normal casts? https://warpcast.com/zeni.eth/0xa5ef8edd

i really like this and wanted this very early on when you launched farcaster. it is not relevant for me anymore because i'm gone from twitter. but for folks who want to be on farcaster in addition to twitter but struggle to cross post, this is great.

I’ve defaulted to farcaster for a while so I like it. Saw new content from folks I don’t typically see in for you on X. It’s cool.

I would love to be a part of this experiment for my upcoming tour in October, but I’d like it to work in the opposite direction: cross post my casts to Twitter. I realize I may be out of scope of the project but I do have a specific use case of live casting our movements on the road and would be clutch automated.

late to the party, but this is a great move something we learned at LBRY is that creators cant just switch to your platform. they have to bring their existing audience with them crossposting (or "sync to lbry" as we called it) was step 1 of the path. the next steps we gave creaters were - post to youtube first but tell your fans you prefer they watch on lbry - post to lbry first and it syncs to yt - post to lbry first, then post to yt an hour later - post teasers to yt but the full content on lbry - eventually ditch yt altogether something similar might work for fc

I hope this works because I want to syndicate in reverse. I have a 20k X account that I straight up abandoned, and I would love to easily push some content there at least daily, but I genuinely end up forgetting to post there.

I genuinely hope that the experiment is successful and we get more users thanks to it. But I just feel annoyed by these casts rn, will definitely unfollow if I see too many of these casts.

Seems like a worthwhile experiment. You might consider filtering out quote tweets from the cross-posting if it’s easy. Maybe just me but casting a tweet is probably my least favorite cast type besides outright spam. Once in a while is ok but seems like 10-30% from a couple of these first cross posting experiments.

You need to choose them from a diverse knowledge & content-creation background. As an example on tech: We definitely need Bitcoin or AI KOLs here. Pmarca is great as a first-mover in many areas. Others also need to be picked carefully.
