This a great opportunity for another client. Warpcast is a US-based team. No plans to expand internationally. We think we can build a great client for English speaking users. Don't have enough bandwidth to do a good job for international users. I know @phaverapp @fireflyapp have large communities of international users. Also @supercast. (I ran international expansion for Coinbase for several years and learned that the hard way.)

Would you consider supporting i18n at the protocol level? Maybe have a value in casts to indicate language (set by a client), empty value defaults to English. And/or subchannels for language specific discourse. i.e. /food/jp /farcaster/es

But people around the world use it. Do you think it needs support in every language, beyond what specific channels can provide? Similar to what Base is doing with their 20+ different channels recently created here.

if auto translate tools get better w time could that be something wc would eventually consider using? i.e. i set my read language to english, yet someone else could write in their native language and it would auto translate to english for me (versus them trying to translate to english before casting) fwiw i know there is an action built for this today

I think the main issue is: your the Founder of Farcaster & also its main client…. People want proximity to the Founder, projects get launched on Warpcast, other apps including OP Retro Rounds requires a login with Warpcast ….it has a monopoly on the ecosystem… & as the Founder your basically saying US is your top priority when the reason you were just able to raise $150M is from the explosive growth from users outside of the US 😩 Imagine @jessepollak saying Base is only going to prioritize US communities for Onchain Summer😳

There is still this problem, but I know that the idea of everything is to become international. I've been working together with @undrgrnd to bring it to non-English speakers. Also the changes and news of Warpcast and community on my channel together with @thephilosopher
