On Twitter, as a reader, do you care about pinned tweets on a user's profile? Or would you prefer to see the most recent popular tweet from that user? Especially for someone you don't follow.

I've asked for pinned casts on our profiles before, but when you invert the question it makes me wonder. I don't think I really care about a users pinned tweets. Sometimes it's useful. It's never annoying that it's there though, either.

i prefer pinned tweets b/c it highlights what the person wants to feature of themselves, whereas recent tweets could be anything from reacting to recent events to shitposting @cameron 👀

As a creator, I find pinned tweets a great way to lock something important or relevant (especially for users who do not know you or are not superfans). As a reader, I find a pinned tweet less useful but would also always prefer it over just seeing a recently popular tweet selected by the algo. It has some gravitas.

I prefer pinned tweets. I like that I can see one or two of a person's posts that they want everyone to see first. Popularity of a tweet rarely correlates with how much it interests me.

It gives greater agency for someone to not just post about something they care about but extend the conversation out for others to read or even contribute to, depending on the context.

I always read pinned posts. They are esp useful when someone posts a lot. A pinned post helps me understand what they are currently focusing on without having to scroll through pages of transient posts

Prefer pinned tweets because it's usually the person's portfolio (if an artist), a recent job that was started, or just something they want to show off or promote

Would be great to see what that person cares about, I would love to see a 5 pin carousel that lets you see a few things that person is doing, working on or cares about.. so you dont have to scroll down and just swipe

For the profile owner Pinned tweets are an extension of their bio. A little more context, sometimes a relevant intro to the types of things they post. But yeah, for readers I want to see a bit more about this user. What popular stuff have they tweeted recently etc. I guess depends on who you’re optimizing for
