We have a very high bar! There are a lot of talented and energetic people out there, but very few with the experience needed.

Haven't had success with staff-level React hires on FC. Have had great success for backend / distributed systems on FC.

Curious still posting on X for that. Are you not restricting to people already interested in FC? Feels like there should be a sufficient pool of qualified devs already here

What are some qualities/skills that have been missing from the current candidates?

I want to be qualified for staff-level frontend roles at some point in my career, so I am curious about the most significant differentiators between a staff frontend engineer and someone who would be considered a solid "senior" engineer
