Why haven't you added video to Warpcast? - Smells like stated vs. revealed preference - A lot of work to get right. Classic 95% straightforward to add and then the last 5% is another 90% work + ongoing maintenance. - We use Imgur for image hosting today, which offloads major compliance burden to an at-scale company.

Content can be on YT, IG, TikTok, @unlonely - ~10% of Top 100 most engaged casts in a given week are links to video - A compelling novel social primitive using video

Meta comment - I really dig this type of cast, ie. discussing how you've reasoned about a product decision. It's nice as a community to be able to see the sausage being made I wouldn't have considered the compliance burden (or moat), but that's a double-edge sword that you're wielding the right side of!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Video would be great and will (probably) eventually be necessary to have here, but how much would it actually contribute to new user growth and DAUs at this very point in time? Especially compared to the other things that your small team is working on? I don’t think a lot.

I think most people who want video support on Warpcast would be more than happy to see video embed from other sources, like YouTube, IPFS, Arweave, etc. It’d be interesting to see what proportion of “wen video??” people mean “native video.” Probably a tiny proportion.
