Nice! A real-time triple contstraint... I believe Quality and Permissionless is the way to go. If people want to make their channels more customized, then they can add people to do this work.

This makes me wonder if there are any good examples on the internet where a platform has improved or maintained quality while also scaling. Maybe channels don’t need to have huge followings. I personally value quality more than anything else, but I did join FC for the permissionless benefits.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. Quality is nothing that you scale. Quality is something that is refined and honed. Also quality is subjective and individual. I think you may not be able to automate one solution for all. What makes for a better system is the choice of an algorithm, which should be open.

Automod is excluded because caster want to cast in nurtured and curated channels. I would say work and permissionless with AI help, antispamming tools etc you can still achieve scalabity with that too

Crowd source the spam filter. If there was an easy way to mark messages as off topic for the channel I would do it. It could be weighted higher if you’re followed by the channel host

Not that there is any platform out there that solved it but what about Reddit style down votes? There could also be an option that only people of certain credibility in the channel can downvote and if so the content gets hidden and it impacts person’s ability to further engage if they get downvoted.

i think summarization could be opposite from quality in a way that scales, for example the chart is primary value here with the majority of comments being redundant. to channels, threads are similarly redundant, though the volume of redundancy speaks to what's trending. similar to newspaper sections the noise as flare

work / quality = cross over w/ group casts. invite / onboarding flow perhaps could use tooling for managing access work / permissionless = personal public/branded feed?? not sure your vision here quality / permissionless = hard problem, but hopefully toolable w/ integrations something permissionless preferred
