Trump got shot. Seemed to unify the other party so much major donors started dropping out and refusing to give more funds. When the money gets nervous you’re in trouble especially during voting season

Because they saw an opportunity to use their leverage to help them achieve their goal. Their goal = a democrat / ‘not Trump’ in office. Their leverage: their $$ / donations If Biden was leading by 10 points in the polls despite his poor health, the donors would definitely not have cut their spending. On the flip side: Trump donors are not turning off the tap, even though he is a convicted felon, and convicted in civil court of sexual assault. He is also a deeply divisive candidate even amongst conservatives (see Nikki Haley’s results in primaries - not great but far from 0) Why do donors not pull the plug on Trump? Because he is leading. So “why did the donors stop?” is a less relevant question.

Now that is the million-dollar question. It seems everyone turned on him so fast. We all knew Bidens age 4 years ago, 2 years ago, etc.; why now was it the end all? I guess that debate, along with the shooting, was the last straw as they watched the other party unite like they hadn’t seen in a long time. Kinda late in the game if you ask me, but we will see.
