The key is moderation. 1-2 maximum amount of pinned posts per channel or per profile.

why not have a drop down option for pinned posts? seems the issue is that multiple pins are allowed (which is still nice for channel creators) but is very noisy if it were just a tab or the first cast that a user could then select to open up the other pins that would work, right? also, personal page max 1 pin imo

You can make them both happy. Add a collapse button to pinned casts. By default they're uncollapsed but hit the button and it'll be collapsed into a single line until you hit the button again.

I agree with both. In the channels it's indeed annoying, and some channels have pinned a tooonnn of stuff! But I also want one on my bio. Not the same thing. And I don't think ppl head to my bio and see what's new often enough to find it annoying.
