Looking for feedback on Warpcast video experience What would you add to this list? Basic functionality - Rotate to horizontal - Add speed controls 1.5x / 2x - Improve timeline scrubber Bugs - Video will continue playing sound after closing video and scrolling - Auto-play video will stop background music app in Increase access - Figure out a way to give non-power badge users video upload ability Nice to have / lower priority - Mini-player, i.e. watch while scrolling - Display the cast context underneath the video

- speed controls !! - sometimes on mobile when i click a video, it starts playing audio in the background but I have to press it a 2nd time to actually launch the video full screen. similar to the first point you outlined under bugs

might be way off the roadmap but it'd be cool if when you watch a video on warpcast you enter *video mode* and you can swipe up to see another video you can create an index of all videos uploaded + sort by engagement this is just the way video works on social media now, warpcast shouldn't swim against the current

Mini player is actually big for me, if folks start uploading longer form stuff… more than a few seconds. I’m not video native, aka I’m older, and I’ll play a video while I get to scroll much more often then watching a video through. - picture-in-picture so people can scroll while half paying attention to the video (this is a serious killer feature for youtube) - increase to 10 min max video length to match YouTube standard video length

This probably falls more in that last category but it'd be really cool to see what a video-only or video-filtered feed would look like! (I know Drakula is built around this premise but I think there's value to having this in Warpcast)

Minor bug: I've noticed that videos don't loop cleanly by default on Firefox. Right-clicking and selecting "loop video" fixes it, but it has to be done one by one on every video. Works fine on mobile.

Rotate horizontal would be key. I also have some intermittent issue with volume. I’m perpetually on silent mode and video may/may not have volume when I play. This persists until I hard reset Warpcast then volume is as expected

I would move the mini player up to higher priority, and move speed controls down in priority. My assumption with why people want speed controls is because they are stuck in that single post for the duration of the video. Maybe they want to watch the full thing, but the desire to see more content is stronger. So if you can see more content while the video plays at regular speed (especially if the mini player is activated via a scrolling motion) I bet that would satisfy people’s needs without the extra clicks of selecting a playback speed.

The upload speed kinda sucks on mobile. It would also be nice to have a crop/ edit option before I upload a video. Or atleast some way to see the full video I am uploading before it goes up. The top and bottom edges are cropped when I’m uploading a vertical video.

you nailed the basic functionality, esp speed controls as i do not watch most videos > 30 sec (or i scrub them but most don't have captions added so then i don't watch at all) personally i would move up "cast content to be seen" (caption priority, next prio reaction metrics) up to basic functionality; my default is to read caption and watch video at same time based on instagram, twitter, tiktok UX

my 2 big asks: 1: turn the channel bubbles on top of homepage on Warpcast into a feed of just videos from each channel 2. add a button below vid to share via dc (v important) (everything else would be super helpful too. you have your work cut out for you, keep it up champ 🫡)

The other feature that works for engagement on twitter for me is the ability to scroll to the next video from someone I follow or the algo, which keeps me in a video loop for a spell.
