that was my intention but no offence Dan, I understand we need to gate channel to counter bot but its not worth paying to cast in channel. think of it like this, why should authentic users has to pay for good behaviour? complain without suggestion is just an *ss so, open gates for users with active badge, if they are misusing or spamming the channel, let the moderator issue a warning, repeat behaviour, kick/gate them out

This is a great advice. I'm a director and I will start doing more cinema/videography casts on related channels. I know we have /screens but I don't think we have a more specific channel for videography/filmmakers/BTS/editing and all the other audiovisual-related stuff. Maybe I will create one.

This is generally how I use Farcaster because I enjoy the communities. But seeing it framed as “to help Farcaster grow” brings up feelings of: well I’m contributing content but what am I getting out of it? Followers that I plan to monetize? Not really my style. Neither is adding value for free. Not asking for a solution, just perspective, because I know monetizing is the end game. But what’s in it for people like me who don’t care to do that? Lack of incentive demotivates me from posting more because I end up feeling like it’s pointless. I don’t use social media much otherwise either so I don’t get the highs from likes and engagement. I get that as Farcaster grows, more opportunities blah blah blah. But I’m putting my personal life out here and as a private person it doesn’t always feel worth it. I guess social media just isn’t for me. 😅
