New on DCs: expiring messages

- Set 1 / 7 / 30 day or even 1 year
- Default is 30 days
- All DC chats have a 1 year maximum retention (previously announced)

Previewing an upcoming change to DCs

We're moving DC convos to a max 1 year history before expiring old messages. 

Indefinite storage for DC convos makes scaling and decentralization harder.

also would love to be able to set it to 90 days for default and do it all at once vs going one by one 🙏

Solid change. There is no reason that DCs need to be stored forever. They aren't designed as permanent storage.

I just noticed this new feature in warpcast! 

You can now set auto-delete messages after a certain time on Direct Cast (and groups).

I am not a member of /warpcast, so I can’t cast in the channel.
