I just onboarded 2 team members. Until they followed individuals their feed was empty. If you have a button saying "show me awesome casts" on the home screen just after onboarding, it might be a little more sticky.

Most of my friends hate crypto. They are either developers who think crypto is just for grifters or people who were in crypto and are down bad. Neither groups want any part of anything web3/crypto/blockchain/bitcoin related.

smart people are here but not everyone is here yet and “most online” people i know enjoy weird/fringe things/subcultures/memes/communities that just don’t exist on farcaster yet

Possibly the fact there isn’t obviously visible pre-established subcommunities for them to observe or join into Sure there’s channels, but the masses tend to seek a tribe to perform for and within and one could say there isn’t much semblance of tribes here that feel accessible to such folks Maybe? 🤷

I haven't even told many friends about it because most of them aren't really into crypto and based on the content here, I think crypto has to be within someone's top 3 interests for Farcaster to be engaging enough to stay.

They don't use Twitter or use it very passively so no interest in other services that resemble it. The reddit angle might be an easier sell but they're also mostly passive users, FC channels don't have the amount of content that subreddits have.

I think if we onboard active web 3 people in consumer oriented fields (artists, gallerists, project founders, collectors, founders of consumer apps, podcasters, writers) we’ll get their audiences on I think it’s also hard to see what’s inside due to mobile app download + payment

I think the conversational wavelength on Farcaster right now is tech-oriented which is good in a way, but we need more zeitgeist conversational starting people on board to bring their followers on board Eg. Imagine if Taleb wrote about a certain topic here exclusively, we’d have an entirely new set of people on FC
