Introducing channel feeds! Channels now have 2 feeds: - Trending - Recent Trending is the primary feed when you visit a channel. It’s a showcase of the best casts in a channel and gives hosts the ability to curate. Recent a reverse chronological feed of all the casts in a channel.

We will be iterating on this approach next week. Assuming it’s working, there’s a clear path for channel decentralization and other clients should be able to replicate the channel feeds. Also @automod and tools like it will help the bigger channels scale.l by adding a bot as a co-host.

Why defaulting to trending? So the new posts are penalized… it got me some time to understand that there were other cast to read in the “non default” view.

Love it! For new/low-traffic channels, would be ideal if default view automatically falls back to Recent when there are no trending casts

Right. I like that we have now two options, but I would love to have a setting where I can pick recent as the default (for certain channels)

Suggestion: the non-default feed should not show pinned casts at the top. There are channels that have 3-4 pinned casts, and that's ok to be in the trending (i.e. "important") feed. But when I click on Recent, I just want to see the recent ones, and not the same 3-4 casts I've already seen.

Oooh, I like that Recent tab! If one's choice could be remembered either per channel or globally that would be close to perfect. (That or a config setting for which tab to default to. Although I know you guys are allergic to config settings.)

Channel host moderation options aren't available in the main channel feed anymore, gotta open the cast before I can hide/warn/etc. Pretty annoying for going through a bunch of spam in a big channel.
