annoyed i have to change something that is working fine for my purposes already tbh

expecting it to be fine, but ever more wary of building for any part of warpcast/farcaster that i start relying on at critical junctures

Yup. This ☝️That was my very first thought too. As a channel owner, I'll just invite people I can think of, at the expense of all the other potential great candidates. 

What about adding a guest (i.e. non-member) post that needs to be validated by a moderator before showing up in the channel?

That would encourage quality submissions and help identify quality candidates.

Worried that it might prevent quality user to get reach and will reinforce those who do have reach already to have even more. I proposed an idea here to counter that:

College Football

excited about more ownership and what can come from having ability to keep channels small while also allowing large channels to thrive

i like the reverse chronological feed - this will be interesting to see for events based channels - the election, nfl sundays, etc

nervous about moderation post automod even with a small channel such as /college-football - main reason being that i'll keep the invite link public bc the channel is general, so i'll need to be better about going in and moderating myself (was pretty much on autopilot w automod) - i hope we'll see tooling come quickly that makes this simple again

I enjoy experimentation and am just a guy who wants to see Farcaster succeed. So, I’m hopeful it is good for the community. But ultimately im split on whether it will work or not

Inevitable bumpy period that hopefully dovetails into a new community centric onboarding process that makes it easier for groups and communities to onboard friends and help them find their feet

Being an avid /hypersub user and Moxie supporter, I am super excited about the new changes and think it will be good for growing both protocols from what I've read so far!

Optimizing for fewer/deeper interactions is a worthwhile experiment to run as a platform (boosting signal vs. noise)

I'm curious how it will affect growth for smaller/rising accounts (🙋🏻‍♂️)

As someone who aims for depth, nuance, and insight I definitely get frustrated that so many accounts that blast clickbait slop somehow seem to grow (not an attack on @farcaster specifically - it's a problem on all social media, especially bad on Twitter, and is much much better here)

So hopefully this solves for high-signal, meaningful content while not sacrificing the possibility for growth

Neutral right now but open to experimentation!

thoughts: 

1. At this stage, changing a lot > not to change at all, latter = everything just stalls;

2. Can see it become challenging for bigger channels, great for smaller channels already running like a community-wrote abt this last month: https://warpcast.com/casslineth/0xfbd2d4db

3. lots dev tooling needed, just built and soft launched @nanograph api at @farhack asia which can help 1) channel owners figure out their active users; 2) users figure out channels they frequently cast, devs already leveraging it like @nikolaiii . gonna see what we can do to help for the upcoming changes.

generally bullish, i think there will be some growing pains with regards to intricate details, such as who can post and moderation which will be smoothed over time i imagine. being owner of pretty niche channels i dont have as big of an issue so would like to keep em open

i think the changes will make channel owners more empowered to really put their stamp on things. creating more cozy corners will provide people to create character driven niches for people which could lead to more interesting content (diverse)
