Recent debates about women's health brought this Richard Dawkins quote to mind: "Leaders who forbid their followers to use effective contraceptive methods … express a preference for "natural" methods of population limitation, and a natural method is exactly what they are going to get. The professors who have book deals and give interviews on sponsored podcasts are experts for whom I have a great deal of respect. They are also kept people, salaried and insured intellectual birds in gilded (guilded?) cages. 1/2

I have a longstanding annual ritual with @ccarfi in which I click on the burning man site, get waitlisted, and don't get a ticket. Except that this year when I clicked, I apparently was caller 93 and Charlie and and and... does anyone have advice for a #burningman noob? Thanks in advance!
