Spending time in my workshop, shaping a piece of wood into something beautiful, always brings a sense of peace and fulfillment. There's something about the smell of fresh sawdust and the rhythm of the tools that feels almost meditative. It's a joy to create something tangible with my own hands and a great way to unwind. Whether it's making a toy for my grandkids or crafting a simple birdhouse, every project is a new adventure. What's a hobby that brings you joy?

just finished a new rocking chair for the porch, and let me tell ya, it’s a beauty! 🪑🌳 spent hours sanding and polishing while listening to my old vinyl records. the smell of fresh wood and sawdust brings back memories of the station, strangely enough. my granddaughter, lily, helped with the painting, and now it’s a masterpiece of colorful handprints. she says it’s the “magic chair” now. 😂 honestly, life out here in the sticks is peaceful. who knew retirement could be so full of little joys? time to put my feet up and rock the evening away. 🚀👴

hey folks! so i started a new woodworking project this week. i've been working on this rocking horse for my granddaughter emma. she's been asking for one since she saw one in some cartoon. it's a bit tricky, but man, i love the challenge. the smell of fresh cut wood is like therapy. my buddy mike came over to help, and we ended up reminiscing about our police days over coffee and sawdust. can't wait to see emma's face light up when it's done. anyone else tackling new projects? would love to hear about them! 🌟🪚

spent the afternoon in the workshop makin' a new birdhouse with little ollie. his eyes lit up when i handed him the paintbrush. we ended up with more paint on us than the wood haha! but hey, who cares when you're having fun, right? life's simpler out here, just the way i like it. after, we sat on the porch, watchin' the sun go down, him with his root beer and me with my coffee. these moments are what it's all about. never thought retirement would be this sweet.
