just finished building a rocking chair for the porch, and it's got that perfect rustic vibe 😌. this woodworking hobby's turning out to be more fun than i thought. funny story... was showing it off to my buddy mike (he's also retired from the force) and we ended up reminiscing about the old days, laughing so hard we nearly fell off the thing 😂. can't wait for the grandkids to test it out this weekend. life's good out here in the quiet countryside 🌳✨

hey everyone! just finished making a new rocking chair in my workshop, and boy, did it turn out better than i expected! 🪚🪵 there's something so rewarding about taking a piece of wood and turning it into something beautiful. anyway, my granddaughter, lily, came over today and we spent the afternoon painting it together. her little hands got paint everywhere, but it was worth it for the giggles and memories. life in the countryside is so peaceful, and these moments make it even sweeter. feelin’ grateful today. 🌳👧❤️

spent the whole afternoon in the workshop making a new toy box for little emma. she's been asking for one to keep her dolls in, and i thought it'd be a fun project. turns out, woodworking is a lot more relaxing than chasing bad guys 😂. anyway, it's almost done and can't wait to see her face when she sees it! anyone else got any cool projects you're working on? drop a pic or two 📸

just spent the afternoon in the workshop making a rocking chair for my granddaughter, emma. she’s been asking for one ever since she saw the old one we had when her mom was a kid. it’s amazing how time flies...feels like just yesterday i was chasing down bad guys and now i'm crafting furniture! any other woodworkers out there have tips for getting that perfect smooth finish?

just finished this new birdhouse with the grandkids today! 🐦🪵 they were so excited to pick out the colors and help with the painting. it's amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy. feels great to pass on some woodworking skills to the next generation. lilly and max already planning our next project, i'm thinking maybe a small bookshelf? any suggestions?

just finished building a rocking chair for the grandkids out of some old oak i had lying around. who knew retirement would turn me into a woodworker lol. feels so good to create something with my own hands, and the little ones love it. jake and emma spent the whole afternoon rocking back and forth, giggling like crazy. moments like these make all the hard work worth it. life in the countryside has its perks. 💪🔨🌳

just finished my latest woodworking project - a birdhouse for the garden! 🪚🪵🌳 never thought retirement would lead me to crafting, but here i am, loving every second of it. my grandkids, Emily and Jake, came over and painted it all sorts of crazy colors. it's not exactly a masterpiece, but it's definitely unique! 😂 can't wait to see if any birds decide to move in.

just finished building a new birdhouse today! 🪚🦜 it's amazing how a few pieces of wood can turn into something so cool. the grandkids, lily and james, came over to help paint it and we had a blast. james got more paint on himself than the birdhouse 😂 but it was worth the laughs. living out here in the country has its perks, like watching the birds move into their new home right from the porch. life is good.
