Good q! 1) On a UX basis, you can add people to an allowlist and issue Badges instantly and don't have to wait for mintlist approval (which is the case for POAPs). 2) POAPs are transferable (& can be sold to the highest bidder), and thus less suitable for high-assurance use cases, like governance, payments etc.
