Not pretending I got the answer that solves all hair problems (at all). All I can say is I started losing my hair and what worked for me is:

Minoxidil and Finasteride.

Minoxidil is the agent of Regain/Rogaine, a commercial product that promises to stimulate the hair root. It is available unbranded, cheaply at any pharmacy and needs to be applied morning and evening. Its simple.

Finasteride is an agent that, in 1mg size (not 5mg!) taken daily will basically stimulate re growth by blocking an enzyme. It has side effects around sexual desire but I have not felt these - libido is fine. This needs a prescription.

The combination has, in my case, worked well enough. Not perfect but I am happy. My hypothesis is Finasteride is the one that’s actually doing the job as it seems more aggressive. To be clear: side effects exist, so you’ll need to talk to a doctor.
