this is basically the truth! i see people are still trying to fight it in the comments but the reality is we can get groceries delivered in 10 mins, but the bare minimum necessities like infrastructure, air quality, and safety are lacking. i see people constantly talking about how great India is, but you wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to convince someone not to throw trash on the roads. most metro cities are dysfunctional. only solution for us is to accept it and work on fixing it, rather than denying it. https://x.com/deedydas/status/1869647888273531260?s=46

Seen this doing the rounds even in whatsapp group chats—having lived in India for several years after university I can comfortably say that it is a wonderful place if you filter certain things out like pollution and urban congestion Food, history, craft and design, natural habitats etc — it is incredible But now as a new father I can't rationally bring myself to even take my son to India (avg. air quality is smoking 3-5 cigarettes a day in most places)
