"I’m really surprised no one has cracked novel web3 mechanics for digital board games" I know there are several that have produced their own online board games, and some projects that went the TTG route (which seems like an obvious one). I agree that there is more opportunity to explore in board games, but I’m not convinced that it has to do with individual collectible assets. Also, this gets back to how I’ve been feeling about NFTs - show value first, mint later (every one that I can think of has it reversed right now). https://app.t2.world/article/cm3j6lzvv66733920mcizwehcro

I agree with the direction of your piece though would note that it can take a lot longer than expected for the value to accrue. Institutions like property rights change which nfts are a subset of take a lot longer than media and even much of the og general internet vision remains unfulfilled. For example the last two examples are still very much early days “no CD-ROM can take the place of a competent teacher and no computer network will change the way government works.” Walk into an arbitrary US public school classroom and the basic structure would be familiar to a time traveler from a century ago. Government has changed (particularly in a martin guri revolt of the public way) though that’s even more early days. Anyway thanks for sharing And most importantly what are the most noteworthy web3 board games in your view?
