Facebook go-to-market: 1. Harvard 2. Ivy League 3. College students (2 years at this level) 4. Open to everyone 5. Focus on winning country-by-country People forget that MySpace was way bigger. Facebook was a "social network for college students". Worked out for growing retained DAU. :)

Also (in my opinion) why Facebook won out over MySpace was due to opening it up to devs to build into and monetize (which also incentivized them to do user acquisition for them). Which (checks notes) - yep...FC and WC _both do_. Providing more tools for builders? Bullish af.
