I’ve learned that my mind has different “BIOS” modes, and I’m just discovering what they are and potentially how to use them - walking is the perfect amt of stimulation for absorbing pods/books - I don’t fidget like the textbook definition, but my version of attentive fidgeting is something like doing calligraphy drills while listening to a YouTube video - a certain type of house music at a certain beat, tonal range etc can totally get me in the zone Share yours if you know yours!

These were my early insights, shortly after getting a late diagnosis. https://warpcast.com/dirthippy/0x8db00ef8

Out of all of the "thriving mechanisms", my favorites are (currently): 1. bullet journaling (didn't even know there was a term for it, before) - I do this every week now. 2. listening to upbeat music while working (I have done this for as long as I can remember) 3. body-doubling and setting forcing deadlines - After deep-diving into ADHD, I'm re-instituting these to see how well they work (so far, so good). I'm meeting once a week on my D&D side projects, joined writing groups ("friends who write" competition), etc. 4. Daily exercise / walking (preferably in the woods) - I admit I haven't been good about this, but know I need it.

😍 Sweet list!! I wish I had nature nearby that I could go to. That's one of the main things I miss about my childhood in Norway. Toronto is a concrete jungle, and I'm hours away from the nearest "nature". 🥲 One of my projects this new year is to make our home as cozy and comforting as possible to make up for it
