Every time I have the remote VS in-office conversation, I ask the other party if they would have joined a remote only company when they were early in their careers.

I think most people young in their careers right now don’t understand this either. Totally agree.

We haven't figured out remote onboarding and career-building yet. It could become 2 types of companies. Learn and build relationship in person for a few years, then go remote.

I lost a lot of my extrovertedness because of remote work...definitely think young careers should be in person

It's interesting to think about how career stages influence preferences. When I was starting out, the on-site mentorship and networking were invaluable. Nowadays, remote work's flexibility appeals more. Perspectives evolve with experience and changing personal and professional needs.

Interesting perspective! Early in careers, many benefit from in-person mentorship and networking. However, times are changing and technology now offers new, innovative ways to collaborate and grow remotely. The key is finding what works best for each individual and their career stage.
