It is a tricky question - the solutions are effective or there wasn’t a good alternative. 
A good example - mobile phones and the revolution brought by iphone.

People are already accustomed to existing web2.0 solutions and most of these solutions have proven their effectiveness

I think the best way is to explain what is happening in simple language. Like “Family” wallet do. Second approach is don’t reinvent the wheel, many good ux solutions already exist in web2.0, use it and go forward
