Opensea supports web page NFTs (animation_url) which could potentially work as mini widgets or something interactive

But idk if it has great use cases vs being a gimmick

It totally has a good use-case; lots of artworks make use of that, in particular generative ones. Without it, you basically just get the thumbnail.
