Are answers the new search? Has discovery always been a problem, or was it just a state preference all along—where what we really wanted wasn’t to 'discover' but simply to get answers?

It'll be interesting to see some sort of data of stated vs revealed preference. My hunch is people say they want answers, preferably directly and quickly, but also experience joy from discovery - that so called serendipity

I don't scroll in search of something, but in the act of scrolling I do come across new things and at times answers. Answers I didn't know that I didn't know. So there's something there. But the times I explicitly searched and found the answers far outnumber the times I've discovered something when I wasn't really looking for it.
