I'm not worried about BlueSky defeating Farcaster. Why? Farcaster can fork & adopt ATProto faster than BlueSky can adopt a full Web3 cryptoeconomic stack. BSky users have private keys...which means they have (account abstraction) wallets ipso facto...meaning they are onchain whether they like it or not. Going the other way, every FID can be wrapped into a DID. Private keys are a one way street, once users have them, the sovereignty cannot be undone.

don’t think there’s any “defeating” in a world where social media platforms represent ideological tribes. the vibes of the two protocols are so different

Somewhat agree but atproto does have multiple language support, so there are entire clusters of Japanese and Brazilian users that you won't see if you aren't opted in to see Japanese or Portuguese. The Anglosphere may partition onto different platforms, unless the platform has tools to create subvibes/tribes like subreddits
