I tried farcaster/warpcast for a bit earlier this year but didn’t really get into it. I get the sense that I didn’t figure out channels and frames that well What’s the best way to use this app?

You don't have to use channels to be seen, beforehand the algo really emphasized casting in channels. Now you can use it like Twitter. I personally like longer casts because of the higher character limit: something you can't do on Twitter without paying.
