any tips to meet more peers/founders in your city? most founder focused events typically have adverse selection; the best founders are too busy for these sorts of things in most part

the only networking hack that ever worked out for me was building an app that other founders use

I’m experimenting with something for the same reason - to meet others like me. I’m starting to host founder dinners or night outs at the local pubs or a restaurants and invite only people I like through recommendations from them I other people join every next time. Once or twice a month.

I usually lean in around the top VCs in that city. They typically like to convene founders for in-person events, happy hours, etc. And VCs are the one group founders will show up for.

have lived in sf/nyc where there is a large community, but my tips: 1.) keep things small, you don't really get to meet ppl when its 25+ 2.) personally invite people you want to come, on the receiving end im way more likely to come if someone personally invites me 3.) Personal opinion, but I feel like setting the tone is really important, you shouldn't try to network/BD at these, everyone can tell from a mile away - it will come up at some point though in conversation the above has worked rlly well for me in the past

Message and connect with the founders you want to meet by offering to meet them for coffee/tea (I never did this but I’ve heard this advice)

go on Linkedin and act real cringey. #founders. They'll come to you.

Sounds like a business. Match sales/marketing founders with technical/product founders. Is anyone building this?

Instead of generic events, try joining niche meetups or sector-specific workshops. Volunteer at local startup hubs or coworking spaces. Offering your skills in exchange for collaboration or mentorship can also create genuine connections with driven founders who value time and productivity.
