Today I’m launching discove: an easy way for anyone to create and share a feed built on top of Farcaster.

What can you do with Discove?

1. Curated feeds

You can create curated feeds by writing an sql query and curating by replying with a specific keyword or user you tag. For example “where cast has a reply by @df that includes @perl“ for your perls, or “where has a reply that includes @perl” for everyones.

2. Complex searches and filters

Search using operators like “-” to exclude terms, “or” to show the union of two queries, and search for results within a date range. You could for example create musiccaster, askcaster, or sportscaster without writing any code.

3. Complex feed ranking

You can use novel ways to rank a feed. For example “all the people I follow, but show users A, B and C first”, or “Show at most 2 casts by each user I follow in the first 100 results”. There’s some default ranking systems included, such as the old hackernews ranking algorithm.

You can use a search interface or SQL to create your feed, enabling powerful feeds that are also lightning fast through caching.

Thanks man! Agree with you totally, I'm trying to figure out what extensible cast rendering looks like. For example discove.xyz can render casts it identifies as polls with a poll UI - and perhaps end users can choose which cast renderers to use even within a client

Congrats 🎉! So exciting to see people use the extensibility power of Farcaster. I imagine the best of these extensions will get upstreamed into the best clients. It's a whole new world 🤩.
