"Memecoins" are more than memes
They're creating entirely new markets for new people and projects to build
"Memecoin" launchpads are a new capital raising mechanism (s/o @trustlessstate's new piece, link below)
A project can raise capital for their mission in a much more egalitarian way
- Launch through a token launcher
- Fully liquid, freely accessible to all, with no advantaged access or "insiders"
- Market sets a price in response to info the project shares about their vision and roadmap
- Better than raising via VC, IPOs, ICOs, debt, etc.
What does this mean?
That the new generation of VCs/seed investors are actually hedge funds
Investing in new, fully liquid tokens of new startup projects
Adding so many more degrees of freedom for the builder as well
They can be an individual, a company, a community, a product - anything, really
This is better
