Intrigued by all the ideas floating around to make The Burn less scary, like finding a use for the money or giving it a friendlier name

The scariness is the whole point, to make sure voters never go through with it

It has to be as unappetizing as possible

Right, IMO it’s like the early days when people would ask “what happens when nobody bids on the daily Noun”, someone would’ve just bid 0.001E on it. I think only a severe coordination issue would yield a true burn, someone would come up with at least a half decent proposal.

Actually this is a good point that nobody has brought up yet: Adding the burn to the protocol is kind of the ultimate flex of our confidence in our own ability to coordinate (especially compared to most DAOs.)
