since publishing in early 2020, most of these primitives have been explored nicely - projects like bored apes and pudgy penguins went on to form massive online communities, out of the networking of digital objects - DeFi for NFTs (ie collateralized lending for NFT objects) exploded in interest - XR platforms like MONA started bringing onchain objects into 3D abstractions think all of these categories continue to get refined and supercharged

we've built a process at collab+currency to ingest as much information as possible, to help make qualified decisions in real time that process gets better every week that said, we won't see everything, and we will never be right about everything have to learn from mistakes and be a better investor than yesterday

price vol is a very easy (+ elegant) way to see attention translate to value in real time in summer 2020, on NBA top shot, the edition prices of player NFTs would rise and fall depending on how they were performing mid-game we'll see quite a few expressions of this idea as more classes of digital objects get created

i've written quite a bit bout NFTs as store of value objects but the other side of the spectrum is just as interesting as a design space (NFTs as products/services) the monetary value of global products / services represent tens of trillions of dollars in GDP each year i'd prefer 10x more exploration here

great q the traditional art market represents $65B in annual turnover estimates put total market cap of trad art at close to $2T now, the top three crypto art collections in the world have a collective market cap of *only* $1B Punks - $730M Autoglyphs - $138M Chromie Squiggle - $103M few paying attention
