my working theory is all extraordinarily successful people have at least one parent that is mentally ill - usually cluster b. or they didn’t know their parents and were adopted. will not be elaborating further.

depression doesn’t count. mental illness like bipolar npd or some kind of schizo affective disorder. less than 5% of people. they are unsafe caretakers usually with a codependent or resigned spouse. drives kids to be hyperindependent, and/or also have the disorder, but channel it in a professionally successful way
