For anyone building products, I'd recommend giving this a read. /product-design is beyond pixels (quite frankly, that's the easy part)—but rather a combination of product strategy, business design, GTM, and of course, UX, UI, + UXR. That's putting it simply. https://www.figma.com/resource-library/what-is-product-design/

In the good ol’ days we called it interaction design, which meaningfully differentiated it from the practice of Product Design as it originally existed in the industrial design world.

Was Facebook the first to officially coin the title, "Product Designer" (in the digital sense)? Also, I believe Airbnb still calls their designers Experience Designers... Wordle schmurdle

I recall it becoming a topic of debate in the IxD community ~2013-2015. Was word salad from the start. My preference was always to stick to interaction designer or move to service designer if you were really operating at the org/ops level. In the end, it doesn’t really matter. Just glad we’re past UI/UX.
