"Cloud Brood Number Four: Peace"
It was the moment of stillness in the midst of the maelstrom, a respite on the surface of a raging sea. The familiar, singing voice amidst the swell of strangers. A light at the end of the dank, carved stone corridor; where surely the most leggy creatures that ever existed crawl.
It was the perfect instant, a certainty in the midst of uncertainty. Morpheus devouring insomnia, water for the parched and pasty mouth of those who have swallowed sand, rest for the walkers. Calm and white noise. The silence of the clearing in the middle of the forest. A clear sky dotted with migratory birds and a soft breeze.
Even now, after so much time, after having seen so many eyes, having heard so many noises and having fallen on my face against the dry and white earth so many times; I still remember. Still today I invoke its presence, I seek its calm, I take refuge in its peace. 0 reply
