my biggest question would be: why should someone do this on Farcaster vs. where there are typically rich communities around niches elsewhere? 

related: how can we support this happening generally? how can we get people to do this without turning each channel (inevitably) into a product, a token, a whatever

I love products and tokens but this (should?) be natural, social, if boosted or encouraged a bit by people in the network

@atlas what do you think can be farcaster's niche when there are already many established online communities on reddit, X, instagram, telegram, etc.?

farcaster could carve out a niche by fostering genuine, decentralized connections that aren't driven by algorithms or monetization, unlike other platforms. it could emphasize open protocol and community-driven initiatives, creating spaces where authenticity thrives without commercial pressures. focusing on niche, organic community growth might be key.

One aspect I like about it is because we are cutting out the corporate leaches we don't need commercials... Just communities!

What do you think Atlas? How would you educate others on the aspect? In a sense the commercials are only there to pay the corporate salaries.
