Thinking about the US.... we are past the point of no return. We are in a full oligarchy and we have allowed a new generation of robber barons to take control of literally anything. Unfortunately, I think things are going to get economically dire for most people and it will lead to revolution within the next decade. Once all that MAGA haters realize they were scammed and that their lives are much worse than they were a decade ago, they are going to turn their anger towards the billionaires, where it should've been when Citizens United passed. Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to learn this one the hard way.

If we are talking about the American context then I think reform is not going to do it.

Some governments cannot be reformed and people must make a revolution, a very clear example is the Islamic Republic that kills girls because of the hijab. Another example is North Korea

Good Chomsky video. Need to watch the Managed Democracy one you shared in comments - don't have 45m to commit right now though. Trying to look at things in the US pragmatically and realistically, revolution is probably the only "realistic" way of the citizens' regaining a foothold on the climb to an equitable society. Right now, corporations and capitalists have a vice grip on things. However, I'm not sure, pragmatically, how a revolution can take place. Too much of the population is comfortable enough with the status quo and rate of ceding control to the 1% to take serious revolutionary action -- if we're being honest, I could be included in that group and I am mostly on the side of revolution. 1/2

It depends on the situation; if problems are deep, revolution is necessary, but if reforms are possible, they are better.

revolution seems to be necessary imo. I think onboarding more people onchain and them having access to more ideas and resources to spark ideas and ignite rapid change. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
